Aequorea Victoria is an independent studio in Portugal building an alternative social network and virtual space for artists and art lovers. No algorithms. No likes. No follower counts.

Our Mission

We believe art should be experienced, not consumed. Modern platforms optimise for engagement, turning creators into content machines and audiences into metrics. Aequorea strips those mechanics away and returns the focus to the work itself, the story behind it, and the person who made it.

Every artist gets the same space. Feeds are chronological. Nothing is ranked, promoted or buried. What you see is what people chose to share.

Two Doors, One Account

The app is a pocket museum for iOS and Android: paintings, photography, music, film, books and text, in a pure chronological feed, with room for the words behind each piece.

The Museum is a single seamless 3D space on Steam, built in Unity, that you walk through with other people. Classic works hang beside new ones; you can talk, leave comments on the walls, and hang your own art in a room of your own.

One Aequorea account opens both. Upload on your phone, and it is waiting for you on the wall.
